Our journey began with a clear mission – to meet the demand for glass-to-glass custom display cases, a rare expertise in the industry. The rarity not from other companies attempting at producing these pieces, but executing them extremely well. Traditional “frameless” cases pose challenges due to their intricate design, leading to limited manufacturers specializing in this meticulous craft. Drawing from his experience at his family’s metal frame display case business Kooiman Industries Limited., our founder, Justin, mastered the art of working with glass. Observing the untapped potential in the market, Justin set out to establish Obsidian Manufacturing as Canada’s premier custom glass display case and showcase manufacturer.

Hi! I am Justin Kooiman, an individual with a passion for woodworking and a love for design. My background in mechanical engineering gives me the knowledge to design outside of the box. Paired with my experience in the display case industry, I am always up for a challenge.
