Standard display cases are supplied with 6 mm tempered safety glass, offering excellent durability and clarity for most applications. For jewellery displays where colour accuracy is critical, we also offer low-iron glass, which provides a more colour-neutral, crystal-clear view by minimizing the subtle green tint found in standard glass. This allows customers to appreciate the true hue, brilliance, and detail of diamonds, gemstones, and fine jewellery. Laminated glass is also available for projects requiring enhanced security.
Exceptional jewellery deserves exceptional lighting. Our lighting systems are thoughtfully integrated into every display case from the design stage, ensuring optimal presentation and performance. In partnership with Canadian lighting specialists such as Ardron Mackie Lighting, we tailor colour temperature, intensity, and fixture placement to complement your collection—bringing out the brilliance of diamonds, the richness of gold, and the fine details that make each piece unique.

Our showcases are fortified with high-security locking systems from trusted partners like Capitol Industries Locks, seamlessly integrated so they don't detract from the aesthetics. For high-value items, we can incorporate options like shatterproof laminated glass for an additional, invisible layer of protection.

We use premium materials—thicker tempered glass, sturdy aluminum framing, and beautiful wood finishes—all sourced and assembled in our Fergus, Ontario workshop. Maison Éclat is a family-owned fine jewellery retailer with a boutique in Southern Ontario. They came to Obsidian with a specific problem: their existing floor cases were standard commercial fixtures that looked perfectly acceptable in isolation but did nothing to signal the level of the merchandise inside. Engagement rings starting at four figures were sitting in the same kind of case you would find at a mall kiosk. The presentation did not match the purchase.
They needed cases that communicated luxury before a single piece was even noticed, worked within the existing footprint of the store without a full renovation, and held up to the daily handling demands of a busy retail floor.
Obsidian fabricated a full suite of custom glass showcases in the Stargazer (medium walnut) finish, including four freestanding floor cases for the engagement and bridal collection, two countertop showcases for daily wear and accessible price points, and a continuous wall run along the rear of the store for the estate and one-of-a-kind pieces. Integrated LED lighting was specified per case type, with cooler lighting for diamonds and warmer tones for coloured gemstones and gold. All locking hardware was sourced from Kenstan Locks and integrated flush into the case framing.
The result was a retail floor that looked intentional from the moment a customer walked in, with a clear visual hierarchy that moved the eye from entry through to the highest-value collection at the back.
Our Process
